Charnita M. Zeigler-Johnson, PhD, an epidemiologist in the Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics, was quoted in a Grandparents.com article on baldness as a predictor for being at a higher risk for certain diseases, like prostate cancer and heart disease. Some studies say yes, including a recent one by Zeigler-Johnson that found men getting bald in the front by age 30 were more likely to get clinically significant prostate cancer before age 60.
