Two Penn Medicine Physicians Named Among City’s Top “Bold Minds” by Philadelphia Magazine

Carl June, MD, a professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and director of Translational Research in the Abramson Cancer Center, and Ezekiel Emanuel, MD, PhD, chair of the department of Medical Ethics and Health Policy and the Diane v.S. Levy and Robert M. Levy University Professor and Vice Provost for Global Initiatives, were named to Philadelphia magazine’s list of the city’s biggest innovators. June was recognized for his work using a breakthrough gene therapy to treat leukemia patients, and Emanuel’s work helping to shape U.S. health care reform efforts is highlighted.
