Jill Stopfer, MS is a certified genetic counselor and founding member of the Cancer Genetics Programs at the Abramson Cancer Center at the University of Pennsylvania in 1994. Jill works with individuals and families with hereditary risks to breast, ovarian, colon and other cancers, and on a number of research projects looking to identify and characterize genes involved in cancer risk. She performs risk assessments, and provides genetic counseling for those undergoing genetic testing for familial cancer risk. Jill is a graduate of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, with a Masters degree in Human Genetics and Genetic Counseling. She was one of the first genetic counselors in the country to focus primarily in oncology. She frequently presents about cancer genetics and has been involved in a number of educational and policy initiatives on a local and national level.
