Principal Investigator: Kathryn Schmitz, Ph.D., MPH
Dr. Schmitz has a long-standing interest in physical activity, obesity and cancer prevention and the late effects of cancer. Her work has been cited in over 4200 articles and has contributed to the reversal of decades of guidance to breast cancer survivors that they should avoid lifting anything heavier than 5 to 15 pounds on the part of the Susan G. Komen Foundation, the American Cancer Society, the National Lymphedema Network, and the British Lymphology Society.
