NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - New research suggests that robot-assisted
laparoscopic prostatectomy (RALP) provides comparable oncologic control
as retropubic radical prostatectomy but is associated with better
functional outcomes.
As reported in the August issue of BJU
International, men treated with RALP rather than standard prostatectomy
had better recovery of urinary continence and erectile function.
