Penn Medicine Ranked One of the Nation's Clinical Centers of Excellence in GI Disorders by the Medical Economics Magazine

Penn Medicine has ranked one of the nation's Clinical Centers of Excellence in Gastrointestinal Disorders in the latest issue of Medical Economics magazine. the 12 centers featured have active research protocols in diverse GI areas and are profiles which provide physicians with a valuable tool when considering where to refer patients for diagnostic procedures and treatment of intractable, chronic GI disorders or serious disease. Penn Medicine is the only institution ranked in the Philadelphia and Delaware Valley Region and is one of only four of the ranked centers that was further highlighted in the article. Anil Rustgi, MD, chief of Division of Gastroenterology, and David Metz, MD, associate chief of GI for Clinical Affairs, are both quoted. "We have many physician-scientists who are leaders in their fields, nationally and internationally," says Dr. Rustgi, "and we are very excited about the advances we've made in terms of diagnosis, and, we hope, in therapy."
