The University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine has been ranked #3
among the nations research-intensive medical schools by U.S.News & World
Report. This marks the 12th consecutive year that Penn has been listed among the
top five medical schools in the United States for research. In addition, Penn
Med was ranked 12th among top primary care schools. Penn was ranked in the Top
10 in the country in four specialty programs: pediatrics (2nd), womens health
(6th), internal medicine (4th), and drug/alcohol abuse (6th). Two of Penn
Medicines PhD specialty programs also ranked among the top ten in the nation:
immunology and infectious disease (7th), and microbiology (8th). These and other
rankings appear in the Best Graduate Schools issue of the magazine, available
on newsstands on April 28.
