James Metz, MD, an associate professor of Radiation Oncology who serves as editor-in-chief of OncoLink and the department’s Chief of Clinical Operations, is quoted in a CR magazine story about OncoLife, the online survivorship care plan tool that helps cancer survivors create personalized care plans advising them on screening recommendations, potential late effects of their cancer therapies, and other post-cancer issues, from fertility to finance. Many were “coming in just not knowing what they needed to do after the cancer care was completed,” Metz says, noting that the care plans can help patients open the lines of communications with their primary care physicians. “The idea is really to help empower them and help educate them with the questions they should ask.” Read More
