Research on the physical late effects of breast cancer treatment led by Kathryn Schmitz, PhD, MPH, an associate professor of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, was highlighted by the DailyRX. Although many cancer centers do not yet follow women for these problems, Schmitz recommends that survivors seek out exercise and nutrition professionals with expertise in oncology, and "start and maintain a regular program of exercise to help reduce, prevent, rehabilitate, attenuate, or treat many of these effects."
