Area's "Most Courageous Athlete" Treated for Rare Cancer at Pennsylvania Hospital

Philadelphia Sports Writers Association honored Boston College linebacker and Wayne resident, Mark Herzlich as its 2011 Most Courageous Athlete at the annual awards dinner. Herzlich was treated for Ewing's sarcoma, a rare bone cancer, by Arthur Staddon, MD, medical director of the Abramson Cancer Center at Pennsylvania Hospital. Herzlich returned to the field to complete his senior season at Boston College and is currently training in preparation for the NFL Scouting Combine. Read More
