Susan Domchek, MD, an associate professor in the division of Hematology-Oncology and director of the Cancer Risk Evaluation Program, is quoted in an NBC 10 story about a patient she treated who was diagnosed with breast cancer while pregnant with twin girls. Though the placent protects fetuses from some of the side effects of chemotherapy, she says, careful timing is needed for delivery of the chemo drugs and scheduling of the birth.
