Chi Van Dang, MD, PhD is the Director of the Abramson Cancer Center after having served as a professor at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in the departments of Medicine, Cell Biology, Oncology, Pathology, and Molecular Biology & Genetics. He also served as Vice Dean for Research and Executive Director of The Johns Hopkins Institute for Cell Engineering. Dr. Dang serves as the Director of the Abramson Family Cancer Research Institute.

The day-to-day activities of the staff of the Cancer Center are under the supervision of the Center's Chief of Staff, Joseph R. Carver, MD. 

The Deputy Director of Clinical Services & Programs at the Abramson Cancer Center, Douglas L. Fraker, MD, serves as the senior advisor to the Center's Director and Health System's leadership on clinical services and associated programmatic initiatives.

There are eight Associate Directors of the Abramson Cancer Center

• James Alwine, PhD, who previously held program leader positions for 12 years, has served as Associate Director for Core Facilities for the past five years.

• Katrina Armstrong, MD is the Associate Director for Outcomes and Delivery and Associate Professor of Medicine and Epidemiology. Dr. Armstrong is also the Co-Director of the Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Program and Director of Research at the Leonard Davis Institute.
  

• Garrett Brodeur, MD is the Associate Director of Pediatric Cancer at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and also a Professor of Pediatrics.

• Lewis Chodosh, MD, PhD, is Professor of the Department of Cell and Developmental Biology and Professor and Chair of the Department of Cancer Biology. Dr. Chodosh is also the Medical Director of Cancer Genetics, and Program Leader of the Breast Cancer Research Program.

• Roger B. Cohen, MD is Associate Director for Clinical Research.

• Timothy Rebbeck, PhD is the Associate Director for Population Science and Professor of Epidemiology. Dr. Rebbeck also hold positions as Director of the Center for Genetics and Complex Traits and Director of the Center for Population Health and Health Disparities.

• Barbara Vance, PhD, CRA, is the Associate Director for Research Initiatives and Administration and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Cancer Biology.

• Robert Wynne is the Associate Director for Financial and Administrative Affairs.

Abramson Cancer Center Director's Leadership Council

The Abramson Cancer Center Director's Leadership Council (ACCDLC) advises and supports the Abramson Cancer Center of the University of Pennsylvania leadership in programmatic direction, community interactions, long-range finance and development strategies, outreach, and public relations. The Honorary Chair, Madlyn Abramson, and her family have committed $100 million to support cancer research and patient care. View the other members of the ACCDLC.
