Uterine cancer is cancer that forms in tissues of the uterus (small, hollow, pear-shaped organ in a woman's pelvis in which a baby grows). Two types of uterine cancer are endometrial cancer (cancer that begins in cells lining the uterus) and uterine sarcoma (a rare cancer that begins in muscle or other tissues in the uterus).
The Abramson Cancer Center hosts a wide range of materials and activities that provide education and support to address key areas of concern for cancer patients and their loved ones. We are proud that many of our innovative patient education programs have been recognized by national groups, including the National Cancer Institute's Cancer Patient Education Network.

The goal of any cancer treatment is to eliminate the cancer and prevent or reduce the chance of recurrence in the future. The various types of cancer therapy may be used alone or in combinations, depending on the type of cancer as well as other factors, such as stage of tumor, and your medical condition.
